Long stroke shocks

Post by Guy »

Does anyone have info on what are the longest stroke commonly avaliable shocks around.
I know that the Rancho make long ones, but what about OME, TJM etc.

I am not fussed with adjustability, just want to install and basically forget ..

Long travel to suit what?, and what travel req do you have inc bump clearance and rebound?
OME have a long range for a few vehicles, valved to suit, Ranchos have some etc etc

To suit custom applications. Suzuki Sierra in this case, as such the mounts will be made to suit.
I am simply looking for a list of shocks with 10 or more inches of travel.. I will make up my mind fully after playing around on a ramp to get max compression and dropout, but I dont want to spend $$$$$$ on shocks for my weekend warrior .. so if a $120 OME shock will do what I need then thats fone with me .. (I prefer a pretty heavy shock to help combat a bit of body roll on) ..

Then I am still looking at $175 a shock or so, all I want is a list of longish stroke shocks that are not the ones that are "common knowlege" like RS5012 or 9012's etc ..
I have heard of an OME comp shock thats pretty long and pretty soft whats the model on that ??

Thanks ..

Check out a Monroe Series 60 shock to suit the front end of an Ford Louisville (sp?) LTL 9000 truck (prime mover) They have 14in travel and are bloody cheap. Last time I bought some they were about $90 each.

Fairly stiff though but I guess you arnt chasing comfort.

Hi I deal in Pro-Comps importing direct from US and Rovertym and have the distribution for READY WELDER .
The ES9000 shockies have just landed { second container , first sold out } and have all configurations up to 35 inches , we do business a bit different than most and have hi-turn over low mark ups so the price for the ES9000 are $220 per pair doesn't matter which length you need they are all the same price !
The MX6 are $350 per pair and configuration .Frieght to anywhere in Aust is around the $35 mark .
Ready Welders are $900 each and they are about another 2 weeks away .
Hope this is of some help !
Regards Brad
