Hi
my car has been clunking a bit for the last week or so, so i decided to put it up on a hoist and see what was doing..
turns out the passenger side rear spring has 'sagged' 1inch. the springs are put in correctly etc, and are only 1 month old.
when i asked the dude at the suspension shop for some heavy duty springs, he said 'u dont want those cause it will ride like shit'
and told me to put a spring spacer in instead.
opinions please
thanks in advance.
Nik

i think you will find the clunck will not be your spring.
when i lifted mine it had the same.
i was told to undo all the link arms and sit it on flat ground then retighten the bolts. this stops the twist in your bushes from lifting it.

but when it was on the hoist, the drivers side spring was in nice and snug, but the passenger spring moves about 1 inch.. up and down.. and it doesnt sit level either when its on the ground
i do agree that it doesnt sound right but as said i cant see how it would make a cluncking sound..
have you tried talking to the people whom you purchased the springs off yet?

At 1 month old, it sounds like it is either a sizing issue or faulty spring? Did you give it a twist to re-settle it and see if it still moved? It shouldn't sag after a month, not an individual if it has it is faulty as if installed correctly I would think they should slighlty sag in sync like mine did after 6 months.BLC wrote:ok,

Mine only clunk on full flex and retraction, but its more of a groany clunk. I did have a clunk in the front which turned out to be the panhard bolt which had come loose.
Take it back to the shop and show them, speak to the manager if you can otherwise they'll try to talk you into buying something you probably don't need.
