Are you sure you are not already covered?
I don't have it anymore but when Ifirst signed up I had them send me an email stating this so I am confident I am right.

Yeh is DGA,
I'm thru them, seem good tho never had a claim, they know about all my mods and are happy with em.
Had 2 mates claim thru them one in a sprung over 75 with 35's ran up the back of another car, got new bullbar n spot lights n fixed other car.
The other a GQ wagon 308, 6" springs n 37" wranglers, tree fell on it while @ yalwal, new roof and full respray.
Neither had any probs when making a claim...
A bit dearer but at least ya have peace of mind that ya car is covered with mods and offroad.

Mmmm interesting, I just assumed they didn't cover me offroad, but I never actually asked! Haha, stupid of me. I'll give 'em a call and ask.Clown Boy wrote:I am with Just Car Insurance and am covered anywhere I can legally drive - including off road.mabsydney wrote:Anybody using these guys?

If it is the same as mine, as I expect it would be, marked track is a funny term. They described it to me as somewhere I could legally be.
On the beach was an example I used - not a problem. Etc.
The places you are not covered are where vehicles are forbidden, ie private property or no vehicle access beaches.

they say the same. as long as im not making tracks im covered if i have permision to drive on private property im covered 4wd parks included.
So, technically - if you are doing some elaborate crossing of the continent & it requires you to access private property (as some tracks do) albeit with the owners permission, & Big Red jumps through the windscreen of your truck ..... you are not covered!Clown Boy wrote:If it is the same as mine, as I expect it would be, marked track is a funny term. Who do you then claim off?
The landowner who allowed you access via his property?
That doesn't seem right.....

Read my original post a bit closer - you are covered if you are legally allowed to be there. So if you have permission trhat is fine. When I said private property in that context I was meaning without permission (like the tracks off paradise road).koolkat wrote:So, technically - if you are doing some elaborate crossing of the continent & it requires you to access private property (as some tracks do) albeit with the owners permission, & Big Red jumps through the windscreen of your truck ..... you are not covered!Clown Boy wrote:If it is the same as mine, as I expect it would be, marked track is a funny term. DGA
DGA (australian 4x4 insurance) just paid out for Frankenstine $28000 agreed value after it was stolen. They did put me through the ringer though, which I suppose you would expect concidering the original purchase price was $2500.
All modifications were listed and added value to the vehicle.
There was no restrictions to further mods though would not be covered.
Full cover off road and on road with no restrictions. Competition use was not mentioned.
The vehicle had to be fully compliant and road legal, engineered and transport approved.
I have just taken insurance for my new/replacement GQ flat tray with DGA and would highly reccomend them.
incedently,,, They are underwritten by CGU

I’ve been with Affinity for 12 months and I'm currently having issues with my renewal. Yes they are the associations preferred insurer but after talking to the association today may not be for long. If you want details PM me. Looks like I will be going to DGA.grimbo wrote:yep. They seem to offer a good coverage at a good rate. Im with DGA and have made a claim. Kinda pulled out in front of a Honda Jazz and kinda did $22000 damage to it! Oooops. But anyway, they paid my claim, fixed the cruiser, which is pretty heavily modified, and gave me a choice of repairer. I wouldnt go with anyone else.

I use to be with DGA, no problems and they paid the one claim I made and didnt jack up the price the next year.
But now I've got the Boat anchor, I need road side assistance for her, so Ive gone with NRMA. Have house with them as well so car is cheaper than DGA. But NRMA wouldn't cover my Zook. Asked them about off road and they said Im covered.
But, in the list of things they say they wont cover me for is " Your vehicle was being driven in a manner which resulted in a deliberate exposure to exceptional danger, or any wilful or reckless act. Remember that next time your trying jeep hill or such track.

I'll be interested to see what happens with the association and insurance since the carrot was dangled and they foolishly bit..
i WAS with NRMA until i got my old courier stuck about 1km off road and they said "they dont think there winch will reach that far ?" what the ? it was on a mapped dirt track .Zute wrote:I use to be with DGA, no problems and they paid the one claim I made and didnt jack up the price the next year.
