Carpet

Post by jabtronic »

Who here has carpet in their Zook? Mine doesn't have carpet in the back but the front has really worn leather-sortof stuff. Its pretty loud inside so I want to sound deaden the floor and then put some nice carpet over it.

Does anyone know some places that sell premoulded carpets real cheap for zooks?
There's http://www.tru-fitcarpets.com.au who sell them cheap for $95. But they havn't been replying to me emails or faxes :( I'll have to ring them when I have time..

Remove the lining from under the carpet - usually that's what holds most of the water....

My Suzi hasn't encountered water.
Not yet anyway :D

I'm not going to put sound deadener over the bungs in the floor, so that if it does get flooded somehody I can easily get the water out.

any of the suzi shops can get you aftermarket pre-moulded carpets.

i have had the same front piece in mine now for a few years. it's seen rain (without the roof on for days on end), mud, swamp, salt water etc etc and is still good as gold.

under it there is nothing. i removed everything from the floors when i resprayed it.

best thing is the carpet slides right out so you can hit it with the hose and the hang it on the line to dry.

can't remember the price but the quote you have sounds about right.

try rod at the one stop suzi on the gold coast, they're in the nerang industrial estate on brendon drive(I think that's the street).

Tear the carpet out, rip the underfelt up and chuck it.
Leave the bungs out of the floor.
Go and find that water you've been missing.

I bought some moulded carpet of Trufit last year for my ute. Its not too bad but still is not the perfect fit. Pretty good considering its cheap. I have also painted the floors and interior with sound deadener, put in a loud stereo, aircon and leave the wiindows up... Makes a bucket load of difference...

It is if you don't get stuck.... :finger:

I pulled mine out and sure it's louder, but pressure washing is much easier now :)

Just be careful of the CD player!

The Viagra had a sort of rubberised carpet that doesnt absorb water (although the underlay absorbed heaps). I pressure washed the underlay off the carpet and cleaned it, then never put the carpet back in anyway

Yeah it dried out nice and easy on the washing line too.

Carpet is somthing gender challenged dudes get there knees burnt on.

It has no place in your 4B.

It harbours disease,From former engagment with gender challenged dudes.

Remove the carpet ,but
slowly you don't want to scare your 4b, keep a stanley knife handy ,and cut small squares off at a time, these can be used to wipe the dip stick while checking the oil, or to insulate coldy's when placed on a hot bonnet while telling lies to your mates. :)

I bought some carpet from Tru Fit for my sierra - it fit really well - but i don't have a need for it anymore...

if you're in the melbourne area - perhaps you'd like my carpet?

Note: Tru-Fit sells their carpet in seperate pieces (front, cargo area, wheel arches)...

Yeah sorry I put my location in the occupation box when I signed up

So the tru-fit carpet comes in 3 parts? Depending on how much you want for it I could probably ship it up. But i'll check out the One Stop Suzi shop and see how much they charge for some.
