Im thinking of going soft in the near future and changing from my gq shorty to a newish t/d prado seeing as how I am now preferring to do more touring then rockcrawling.
Just a few questions for the yota gurus.
- do 31's or 32's fit on the new models
- what fuel consumption am I looking at
- I presume air lockers, lifts and so on are available???
- are body lifts do-able on them
Anyone with experience with these as a tourer?? Im planning on still keeping the shorty as a toy so I want this primarily as a daily driver and tourer that is capable of light to medium difficulty tracks

Suspension lift is easy to do [ done dozens]
can do body lift [but airbags are the issuse not legal]
33 will be ok with a lift

My sister has through her business. I will be buying it off her in a couple of years. They are great tourers. She just got back from the simpson with now worries at all. She is running 31" cooper ST's. 2" lift and uses 12.5lt's per 100km. Most of thats city driving.
Standard she use 10 to 11lt per 100km.
I fully support "Do what you want, the way you want it, because it's your truck" but...
Why would you want to go soft when you are going to to all that stuff? Lockers/lift etc would seem a bit extreme to me, and with a new Prado, would you really get the use out of all that, or would you be too scared of breaking it?
Just my 2c.

Thats pretty much the set up I was looking at dave. That looks tops.
Crunch I want the locker/s, winch and lift just for those occasions you come across and think "hmmmmm I could sure use a locker right now" or "gee a winch would be good". I want them primarily as a back up for the tracks/trips not as a way to push the prado along harder rocky damaging tracks, thats what I have my shorty for....thats got 35's, air locker, dents and winch so that gets me in those situations.
I had a slight chuckle today at a toyota car yard when the salesman was talking to me about them. He couldnt stop raving about the rear parking sensors that would make it so much easier for the missus to drive such a big tough 4wd, I just laughed and pointed at the shorty and said 'mate, she would shit all over you driving that thing, for starters she would actually take it off road...not into just a carpark'. After that little bit he took me seriously
