whats the pros and cons with longer hangers ?

Pros:
higher ride height
more downtravel (in conjunction with longer shocks)
ability to run longer spring
Cons:
higher ride height
more leverage placed on frame mounted hanger
reduces departure angle (on rear applications)
may be illegal in certain states (but does that matter?)
will change caster angles in front (can be corrected by using caster wedges)
will alter pinion angles in rear (can also be corrected with wedges)
