Hi all,
I'm Darren from the Northern Suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.

I bought a stock standard Black and Silver 1993 SX Feroza II 3 days ago after looking around for over two months. I conducted nightly internet searches over 3 months to find out as much as I could, but couldn't find anybody with anything really bad to say about Ferozas. I lurked on this site often trying to get a feel for the car, but now I can finally surface as a proud Feroza owner.

A pre-sale check of my Feroza only indicated a rusty tailpipe and a whistle in the exhaust (plus a minor hole in one hose and a blown interior light globe). This was a great excuse to tell my wife that it needs a whole new exhaust system, extractors and all!

Also in the short term, I'll be improving the intake, most likely with a K&N or unifilter to begin.

Looking forward to picking your brains on improving my Feroza.

Darren

Hi guys,

I'm Luis, currently in Melbourne and driving a Suzuki Grand Vitara soft-top... however I have a Daihatsu Terios CXS (1.3lt VVTi) that I bought when overseas (in Portugal to be exact).

Only mods I did to it was put in some 5mm spacers at each corner (it's not much visually but does make a difference), some stickers (that I made), a bash plate (that I also made), driving and fog lights (fog lights not pictured), and changed from the Bridgestone Dueler HT to ATs (much better tyre off road and just as good on-road!).

Oh yeah, almost forgot the Cobra alarm-system... very handy how it closes the windows on it's own :)

(also some blue neon lights under the dash and a Blaupunkt CD player/RDS radio... but that's not very relevant to 4x4!)

Here are some pics...

G'day Fellas

Congrats on a great board. I found the address at Ferwoaza's site. Very nice truck too Ferwoaza.

Anyway, mine is a green and grey 1993 SXPII, bought about 12 months ago in NEAR MINT condition from a middle-aged Hong Kong couple with only 60,000 on the clock - for only $11,300. I was wrapped, and still am.

I was driving a nissan X-trail when I started getting interested in 4wding. Needless to say, I soon relaised that a manual soft roader was NOT SUFFICIENT at all, so went searching for a good smallish offroader - good economy, low entry price, unstoppable in the rough stuff and just needs to carry me, the g/f and our camping gear.

Mike's page was probably what tipped me in feroza's favour, I'm devastsated that site isn't around anymore!!!

So far I've just put in clarion speakers and a pioneer head unit ( i do a lot of highway driving), 235/75/15 Olympic Overlanders, and a tow bar and bike carrier for the mountain bike.

Our best camping friends drive a diesel Surf, and the stock feroza keeps up no problems! Well, I wouldnt say no to another few inches though

I have a few mods planned which I'll look for some advice on in a different thread.

I've noticed the people that hang shit on my truck are the ones that KNOW NOTHING about 4wding. I love showing others up, when we are out on a track. What it may lack in outright grunt it makes up for in light weight and manouverability, and I use that to its advantage in embarassing many a Prado or Discovery driven by hacks. Hell, our friends Surf got hung up once in a bog hole the shortie feroza just bounced over!

Anyway, I'm from Melbourne but spend most of my time in the Latrobe Valley - Gippsland. Theres some mad tracks in the region, especially up Walhalla way.

So if anyone comes down this way let me know.

hey people, my name is pv an i'm in oregon, usa. i have a 1990 rocky sx hard top that i bought a lil over a year ago. i got it stock and i have not been able to very many mods to it yet since i dont have the knowledge to do so. currently it is runnin with stock rear an front torso bars maxed out so i could fit my 235-75-15" mud kings. i also had a custom front bumper with brush guard, mounted off road lights, an built in fog lights made for my ride as well, with a flip down option (for access to grill, etc) i am fixing to dump about a grand into it for some serious body work, new paint job, custom roof cage, lighting bar, tune up, an new free flow exhaust (with stock headers). if anyone can give me any tips on how i can farther mod my rig. i would be grateful. i'm also fixin to get me some rancho 5000 for the front end an a body lift (as soon as i get more money). im also currently looking for some revolver shackles for the rearend an a way to lift it as well... pls email me at MrReallyStupid@aol.com or reply to this post if u have info. thanks!!

~edit~ i finally got some pics. note, this is with the new paintjob.

Hi there!
Just found this list and wanted to introduce myself. I have a 1992 USA Rocky. I bought it used about 3 years ago in Oregon. I am in San Diego, California right now and LOVE this car. It is a great beach buggy with the top and sun roof off.
The only mod I have made is going from the old 205 tires (or tyres for you in Australia) to 215s. Gives it a much better look. Parts here are getting VERY hard to find (NO ONE had a front cam shaft seal that I needed a few weeks ago!!) so any hints on parts here in the USA would be great.

I'd like to add some lights and a bull bar, but what I really want is a bigger engine. The 'big block' 1.6 liter is just a little on the wimp side. I'm thinking either a 2.5l 4cyl from a Jeep Wrangler, or a 4.3 liter V-6 from a Chevy S series Blazer. Anyone ever heard of a swap like this?

Anyway, if there are any other Southern Californians on the list, give me a shout!

My name is Neil and I drive an '84 diesel rocky.

I have been around here for quite a while and have got some really useful information.

The Rocky is Red but most of the time is a muddy brown colour (seems to take to mud like a fish to water). Was brought stock standard and even had the origanal push-button AM-FM radio.

Had all sorts of plans for it but completely stuffed it in a roll-over and the repair bills are mounting very fast.

Here's some pics of it.

G'day Heath is my name and I live in the Riverina of South West NSW. Some of the list know me already from WARFS and some trips. My Rocky is still going (just! one too many trips to Menai) and it looks a little like this:

Australian Rocky. 1992 F-75RV Turbo intercooled diesel.
2 inch tough dog lift kit.
31 inch Yokohama Geolander tyres.
Airtec snorkel and rampod.
Extended breather hoses for diffs.
Alpine system + stacker.
Custom rear bar. (Still only half done.)
A sprinkling of lights (for the hoppys around here).
Nice big roo bar (again for the hoppys)
GME 3200 UHF.
Uniden 510 AM.
Turbo timer.
100 litre long ranger tank.
Assorted dings and scratches (it aint pretty).
New door, after the old one got ripped off.
60L esky with bundy and cokes on ice.

The plan in the future was to get it resprayed, I had a mate in RAAF lined up to give it a coat of hercules low profile eggshell texture grey but that fell through. Now I am looking at maybe kill rust white. I am also looking at getting a new custom door made up with rear tyre holder and jerry holder and getting a soft top made up. At this stage, it is still up in the air but with time on my hands and a handy welder...who knows.
I would also post a picture...but like I said, it is just too ugly.

Cheers all,
Muddy.

Wow just found this website and think it is great as i love my fourby

Hey my name is Nick and I live in Brisbane

I have had my feroza for just over two years now and it is still dead stock as a rock. Have been to Fraser, Moreton and Straddie Islands and love the sand. It is a dead stocker 1996 sx series two, dark green.

I have finally got the modifying bug after my latest effort on fraser when my girl struggled time after time to get through indian heads. For mods I am thinking about getting a two inch lift kit and bigger tyres first, where are some places in brisbane i could go to get that done and how much including labour as i am not technically minded

thanks for reading any help would be appreciated

also will there ever be lockers for the feroza?
have hundreds of mods planned by the year 2020
