Stop Bump Rust Advice

Hi All
Would love some advice on this one please. Nissan TD42 1989. The front bump stops screw upwards into the body. It is rusted through & needs repair.

My questions are:
1. who to take this to for repair AND
2. What would they do?

If you hav a 4 inch grinder and don't mind taking the shield off that stops the sparks from hitting you then you can do it yourself. Had to do this a couple of months ago and that's the method we used. We just ground the nut off the top. This was to a GU however it's the same setup with the GQ.

ha! shows how much i know... i thought they were Nissan's version of the spring dislocator cones that i see on the RR Classics! Mine have gone as well on my patrol - are new bump stops readily available then?

Firstly thank you for your replies. OK point of clarification. As well as the bump stop bolt with nut being rusty - the plate that it bolts to is totally rusty as well. That is the area inside the coil. Where the coil is pressing seems fine - just the "cup" area. I am guessing the whole bracket will need to be removed from the chassis rail & a new one welded in its place?? Hope that helps?

MKPatrol - rusted all the way through - and strangely the passengers side bump stop plate has no rust at all!

Interesting survey - have been to the major wrecking yards today & half the GQ's I found have the same problems starting with the rust in the drivers front bump cup - might be on intrerest to check your own - simply unscrew the inspection plate. You might save yourself alot of trouble?

Found the same to be occuring on mine when I had to replace the bump stops. Now I have taken the inspection plates off and make sure I hose it out after each drive
