Jeep Flares On Zuks
Jeep Flares On Zuks
Does anyone have any pics of jeep flares fitted to zuks like the one below?
Can't remember where I got this pic. Anymore especially front on would be cool.

Some pics here http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... c&start=60 and elsewhere in that thread probably.
You are best off with the Jeep flares, you can get them from Wooders Garage, approx $600. The other ones shown above are very ridgid and wont take too many direct hits before exploding. The Jeep one are very flexiable and bounce back into shape, ie you can run them into a tree and they`ll return to shape. Now thats worth the $6-700. If you break the other ones , they shatter. "Its the way it shatters that matter". I`m going to fit the Jeep ones onto the Gravitron, which is nearing completion.

Are you able to put the pics back in your build-up thread? That thing was looking hot and then you removed the pics

i dissagree (sp).
i ran the bushwackers on the mud and they copped a beating..i once hed the full weight of the zook on one of em and it only got scratched.we even drove over them when i first got them in.
admitantly i did end up ripping one off because a tree jumped out in front of me... but it didnt break the flare just tore the bolts through the holes.

I agree with mark. The bushwackers are rigid yes, but they do flex, and will not shatter. The bushwacker website even says they can be driven over with no ill effects. i priced som jeep flares about a year ago and was told $600 for the set. I also got the same price on the bushwackers, so thats what I bought.mud4b wrote:Bentzook wrote:You are best off with the Jeep flares, you can get them from Wooders Garage, approx $600. For new TJ flares - we now have a set of 7" flares for $500!
Probably a bit bigger than you're after but it's a prety good price we think.
Also can sometimes help line up a 2nd hand set where the TJ Owner has upgraded. Fro reference the Std TJ flare sare 4.5" wide.

i look at it and think the exact same thing ugulygrimbo wrote:so why not trim the guards so you don't see any under the flares. Always looks a bit bodged when the guards aren't cut to match

Pirhana off road in Melbourne are agents for flares that look amazingly similar to calmini flares but are made of incredibly soft urethane.
Greg has smashed his tub in and ground up the heads of three mounting screws and the flare looks good as gold.
The other thing with these flares is that they can be stretched over a virtual lift.
I have seen the Trail Tough flares and while they might be strong, I actually think they would rip out of the guard rather than bend, especially mounted with the Trial Tough supplied hardware.
I like the look of TJ flares, but hate the way that the stock front flare has too much stock guard visible under it. Also IMHO anything that radually changes the shape of the sierra guard makes them look too much like something else rather than a zook.
just my 2c worth.
