Also, can anyone tell me where you've mounted your UHF? i have a remote head gme 3600 but have no idea where to mount the head and guts... the head could be mounted under the rear demister button but what did you use without making holes? I really don't want to screw more screws into nice plastic anymore
Very happy with the way it fits, no holes to drill or anything.

its a uniden uh-090, thats just a speaker grill covering the hole as the uniden unit has its speaker built into the bottom of the unit (if u know what i mean).

Long Range Fuel Tanks for the new hilux are made at a place called "Out of Town 4WD" at Barnsley in Newcastle. When I was in there having my snorkel fitted, a guy called up about them and I heard them telling him that they did muck up the computer for distance to empty etc, and that it was something you have to live with if you get one.
Best to give them a call direct. Talk to Christen or Len. I think that is where ARB get them from.
There are 2 spare fuses in the engine bay, I have not been able to find any spares at ant servo, I had to go to toyota to get spares.
I have a mate with a new lux and he mounted the main UHF Radio under the drivers seat abd the remote head unit at the front of the centre console, just in front of the gear stick. It looks good.
I will take some up-to-date pics of my truck and post them tomorrow.

Anyhow, as for the stereo, Toyota sells these side panel clips to most car audio places I heard, so I went and bought some, were about $35 and a $20 tray insert.
They basically all screw together on the original bracket that comes with the factory stereo.
Well guys I was going to wait until I got some better pics but cant wait any longer, so here it goes, I got 3.5" suspension lift (The ultimate suspension) also 285/75/16 tyres and 16x8 rims. All the work was done through My4x4.com.au at Minto in Sydney.

I'm really surprised how good it rides on the road, the body roll is not much more than standard, as the front sway bar hasn't had to move, under brakes its much much better, as the nose doesn't dip at all and fells more controlled, and the new tyres are so much better than the standard crap tyres.
Also I now have the factory wheels, tyres and suspension for sale if any body was interested!

I think the computer readout gets a little lost at 1000kms. Fuel gauge sits on full for about first 600kms. Long rage tank is great, i can drive from Brisbane to Townsville on a tank. Cost me $1060 fitted, 145lts.

Dave, thanks for that feedback. Does it still work out the average L/100kms properly? and the current/active L/100kms?
The K's til empty doesn't bother me too much but the average and active figures would be nice.
That Black Beast looks so good congrats on a nice rig.
Did you worry about the legal side of things when you got the larger wheels and tyres ?
I stuck with the poxy small Alloy ones and 14mm of extra rubber with Cooper AT's.

About the legal thing, the SR has 16" rims so I'm safe there and the new rims are still the standard offset, the tyres have gone from 255/70/15 to 285/75/16?
I'v also had an engineers report done and it passed easily
I'v been told that this is corecct, Here's a quote from the NATIONAL CODE OF PRACTICE FOR LIGHT VEHICLE CONSTRUCTION AND MODIFICATION (Page 17)
The rolling diameter of any tyre fitted to an off-road passenger vehicle or a commercial vehicle must not be more than 50mm larger or 26mm smaller than that of any tyre designated by the vehicle manufacturer for that model.
Speedometer accuracy must be maintained for the selected tyre and rim combination to within the degree of accuracy specified in ADR 18 where applicable.
