How do you tarp up?
What do you live in up the bush, i'm debating with what to do, i just want a reasonably simple rainproof tarp setup but has to be wind resistant of course, not tents cause i sleep in a swag, any piccies would be magic!
Wanted: Car trailer or beaver tail truck, let me know what you got
ive got a '2 swag' tarp. uses 2 long poles at the front, 2 short poles at the centre, and a spreader bar between the front poles, so its not compact per se.
conditions up here are a bit different but i'll throw up a pic anyway.

what i like is it gives me and a mate plenty of room for swags, bags, nallybins, chairs etc under cover and we can hang a light up. park your rigs either side and it blocks out most wind. if it looks like rain, you can lower the front to give a bit more protection too.

This is my setup that I made a couple of years ago. It just a length of uni strut bolted onto the roof rack, with the tarp fixed to that, I just used self drilling screws and washers. Then about 3/4 out along the tarp I fixed another length of uni strut to the tarp with a hole drilled in each end of the unistrut for a tent pole. It has withstood hail, strong winds, heavy rain and so on and it takes about 5 -10 mins to set up with just two poles, rope and 4 pegs. The outside height is adjustable with the tent poles so you can let in or stop the wind and it works great and their is also a side piece at the front of the car to stop wind from that direction as well, I just had it over the tent at this place

yeh mine is similar as above cept i run the furthest end down to the ground as anyone who has tried sleepin in the high country durin winter wood no u need everybit of wind/rain protection
sorta give u an enclosed tent without one end
