GU IV Info

Post by currentlyoffline »

If anyone has a GU IV ( built after October 04 ) would you mind measuring the opening in the dashboard that the stereo occupies please ?
I am planning on using this space when I update my Patrol for something else and need to order/build some stuff....( Haven't found one yet 2nd hand in good nick at good price...)
Also if anyone has pulled this panel off, to install radios, accessories etc. any pics. or an opinion of how much space is back there would be greatly appreciated.

I am aware it is a double din unit, but there are actually a number of Din sizes such as ISO-din, and Euro-din and these sizes only refer to the chassis mounting size of the unit, and quite often in OE stereos, the size of the face is not exactly din sized
What I am after is an actual measurement of the opening in the dash from which the stereo protrudes, even if it is the ISO-din size which would be 7" x 2".
A photo of the dash with the face off would be even better.
