Speedo Cable??

Post by Wallace »

Hey All,

the '84 sierra has no speedo working.

I know that it is driven by a cable - but how do i get the cable out of the gearbox? It looks like it has been busted there somehow, and doesnt look like i think it should.

Does it just pull out - or is there a special thing to do to get the out.

Is there anything else that could stop the speedo from working??

Thanks in advance.

the speedo cable comes from the t-case. you remove a 10mm head bolt and pull the cable out..

you will probebly find the cable broken where it bends around the heater.

My speedo's also stuffed. The speedo drive inside the transfer case is Kaputt, and I have to rip the transfer case out this weekend and replace it. I don't know if it's different in the earlier Suzukis, I have a '91 model. Hope this helps.
