I care about speed.....dont want mine to go as fast as my old VL worked 5ltr but i want to be able to get up a big hill and still stay in 5th.
Usually with speed comes torque and we all want torque.
I feel that my 80 has enough boost without me adjusting it, shit loads of torque also.
personally i think its horses for coarses
I like my 80 as its more car like outside and especially inside, where as the GQ is alot squarer and older style in and out. Each to there own.

But cruisers eat pootrols :finger:
(until they brought out the IFS hungy  )

Although not really a factory turbo 4.2 my GQ 94 was sold new from Nissan with a safari systems turbo (garret) on it and I think heavier clutch with 4.2 ST turbo stickers on rear quarter.
Over here in WA they sold them as special orders for around 10K more than NA ones but gave warranty (major rip off if you ask me) but good for me as I picked mine up years ago off an old guy that had only put 78K on it, with the bonus that the beast has been had a turbo on it from day dot.

Winding up the boost no longer makes it a factory set up, and I thought the original question was pointed more towards factory setups, which you guys can't compare if you didn't get the turbo option.... DDDDDDDDUhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Dave
Don't be a bITCH...on a predominately aussie forum it was a bit of a misguided question to begin with, with perhaps a bit of added shit stirring intent ?? :D

So If you kiwi guys can get an imported Safari GQ with a Turbo on it from factory, can we import the same thing ??? Elaborate... I likes the sound of this..

that's not speed that is appropriate power at the right time. Gearing plays a big factor in this too but speed isn't what gets you up the hill in 5th.
