If i had std diffs and no maxis i would go down the toy path with jacmac axels it's works out a bit cheaper then 4.11's and maxis

No reason why you cant fit a toy 4.11 hp in the front ?

no it isn't.... it includes axles...

why do people complain about the price of maxi drive....

cost of an arb locker + axles + compressor =$$$???

cost of jac mac locker + axles + compressor =$$$???

cost of maxi drive

they are all good products... you only get what you pay for.

i have no problem paying the price for maxi drive... and i'm not rich

serg

I agree the maxi stuff is great!! but is over priced...... I was quoted 1600 for just the centre and lokka no axels........

i think that 1600 and no axles is high for maxi drive prices(not saying you weren't quoted that) i thought from memory they were about 1700 all up with axles.

if they are a great product and you are getting the same or more for your money than other brands, eg arb, then they can't be over priced

this is my opinion

cheers, serg

Serg - AFAIK the prices have gone up a bit. A complete rover MD locker (with axles) was about $1800 and a Sals $1200. Last I heard these prices had increased to more like $2000 and $1400.

I agree with you that they are still worth every cent though!!! And when I looked at the prices - ARB+axles+comp was about the same price as an MD locker, JacMac+axles was slightly more.

I done the same sort of thing on Aquarangie, it was at the top though. I left the housing in situ and welded it up with my dodgy stick welder

Yes, maxi's are not cheap, but like uninformed mentioned, the ARB/Jac Mac option was going to cost me just as much. I get my front maxi for about $2350 all up inc. fitting. The bonus is that I went down to Mal and paid cash (ie- no GST) so I saved about $300 all up. I paid cash for the fitting as well, so more savings there (I NEVER pay full price )

The Toy conversion is intriguing and has many advantages over the Maxi option, for me it's too much buggering around for me. I don't have the patience to chase up axles, parts to get machined and the way QLD gets things done, it takes too bloody long :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words:

Who has some up to date RRP's? Last I saw (rover locker):

MD: $2000 for locker, axles and everything else.

ARB: $1300 for locker and compressor, plus $600-700 for JM or MD axles. So $2000 all up (Same as MD).

JM: Locker about $1600ish? plus $600 or so for axles.
