hilux steering

hey guys wanan do crossover steering soon but trying to find ways to cut cost without skimping on safety. I was looking at some pics off pirate and found one where instead of running a double arm on one side the link from the pitman arm actually bolts to the tierod as below. Has anyone attempted this on a hilux? i am gonna be making chromoly arms for it so strength shouldnt be an issue jsut wondering about road driving characteristics? also can full hydro steer be legalised on road?

If you are going to make arms, just use a 60 series TRE on the passengers side and bolt the draglink to the tie rod like any 60 series cruiser

I couldn't see the picture but if you are talking about using the hole that the steering damper bolts into in the tie rod...........don't do it.
I have a mate who had this setup supplied by a well known shop and it snaped under very little load. It doesnt matter how strong you make the arms the weak point is the tie rod end with the hole in it.
I run cross over and it was the best thing i ever did...... i am now steering 39' TSL's and havent had a problem.

Cv smasher are you running high steer arms or a double arm for your crossover?

if i use a 60 series arm wont the tie rod be running almost on the passenger side spring?
