King Springs/Rancho 5000 vs TJM 2 inch lift

Looking at a 2 inch lift and comparing King Springs/Rancho 5000 vs TJM 2 inch lift for my 05 3 litre Nissan patrol. There is a few hundred dollars difference between the two options. Is one better than the other to justify the dollars spent or are they comparaable. Thanks in advance.

Between those 2 suspension lifts I would choose the one that costs you less. Rancho are adjustable and some people like adjustable but if worked hard they may not perform as well as the TJM's but I don't have 1st hand experience with this.

On the other hand
I will sell you a 2 inch lift including Dobinsons or EFS shocks and Lovells Coils for $650 + freight and that is good value. Just add $100 for Procomp shocks but I wouldn't bother unless you want a bigger lift and then yep 2nd to none. If you don't fit them yourself any mechanic can do this at a reasonable cost.

I would never buy a set of ranchos again! Have very good raps about nitrocharges though for a 2in lift. And have heard good things bout the new TJM shocks.

king springs supply cofab shocks when you take them out of the box they have tjm stamped on em ????

Austec shocks are also made by cofab but to slightly different valving. I can get you these for maybe $105 each(On special big time) So add $40 to the price. Lifetime warranty with these. TJM won't offer you that.

Id also go the OME Nitrochargers.

but if you want THE best, go Konis Shocks, adn never look back.

Yeah Koni's are great but expensive (Twice the Price $200 each) and probably ride better but I don't think they are going to last any longer then Nitrocharges, TJM, Dobinsons, EFS and Austecs. I would probably buy Bilsteins before the Koni's. Dobinsons are the heaviest shock, made with thicker pipe. They cost me more to freight.

Thanks for all your suggestions, seems with what research I have done through this site and others that Rancho seems to cope a bit of negative flack so will steer clear them. On the whole all other options seem to have a well balanced yes and no so may well come down to who wants my business. Going to get a snorkel, dual bat system and roof racks plus sum other goodies. Am based in the hunter region so have a choice of Out of town 4wd (soon to to be in town ) opisite lock and the new TJM outlet. TJM are new to the hunter and so may offer incentive for new business. Will wait and see.

I have a GU wagon that i purchased with 2" coils and Pedders shocks. Since then i ended up with a set of coil spacers. The ride was never what you would call great.

Have just fitted the OME shocks. What a difference. They've prooven to make a great deal of difference and would highly recommend them.

Just remember that everyone has an opinion, and more often than not, bad ones are the opinions that are stated.

TJM is a great suspension brand, but also has a number of negative views.

Although Rancho has some bad reports, you must take into account they are probably the biggest selling 4x4 shock.
They might have the same percent of bad reports, but this is amplified with the number of people using them.

This is also seen with tyre debates, namely Cooper tyres. Most customers are happy, but people see a large number of negative opinions and steer clear of them. This always comes with popularity and high volumes of products sold.

I personally use Rancho and highly recommend them.

Just go buy whatever you believe should be good and make your mind up. A popular brand name product should live up to an expectation most times.

I think he means the 2" springs gave a hard ride, so he went back to stock springs with spacers.

I honestly don't think Rancho are that bad but.....
Guys with their Ranchos will phone me up saying their Ranchos are stuffed but Rancho are saying nothing is wrong with them, can I get some non Rancho shocks. (I tell them to save their money and be more forceful with Rancho)
Speak to some other 4wd stores and they will all have their stories.
If you want to spend $200 each for shocks then definitely put your money on Koni's or Bilstein.

Sorry, should have been more clear. Currently have 2" springs + freebie spacers + OME shocks.

From experience, the TJM shocks are shorter(By a tad) than original. If a heavy duty 2'' spring is used the shocks will restrict travel. I would use Toughdog or Dobinsons shocks.Personally i would stay away from TJM shocks.
