Who in PERTH is able to do engine conversions

Post by josh9465 »

After a trip to Esperance and not being able to go more than 100km/h (and thats downhill) im thinking of increasing the engine size.

just want to be able to travel a constant 110km/h (or maybe little more) and not slow down to 80km/h or less going up hills.

what size engine conversion would best suit my needs. Maybe EFI?

who in Perth would be best suited to do these conversions.

i have a 1991 sierra softop.

Suziwest installed a 1.6L 8v-efi for me (single point injection).. Labour will always be the main cost with a conversion so if you can DIY then that will save you craploads.

From memory it cost ~$2000 for labour (and another $1500 for the 2nd hand non-reco engine).

I had Peter at suzukishop in canningtin fit a 1.6 16v efi from a baleno a while back. He also fitted power steering and did some tidyup work, all up it cost me just over 5K. it looks like a factory fit, and power is great. even when i ran 31's it had more than enough power for overtaking cars doing 100ks. Off roas is great too. I havent done any hard core crawling (I don't have a cage yet) but with standard gearing there is no issues at all.
