V6 Pajero fuel economy

Post by mortaygo »

Hi there I am in the market for a comfortable family 4x4. I like the bang for bucks value a V6 Pajero offers, however I have heard some horror stories on the fuel economy with out any one being able to provide me the ltrs per 100ks figures.

Can anyone help me with this info? I am looking at both the 3ltr and the 3.5ltr (auto as a preference)

Regards and thanks in advance

Joe

From experience, the best you could expect from a 3.0 manual would be about 11l/100km, and would need to allow for 15l/100km on most trips - although you should do better.

The worst I've done is 20l/100km touring Fraser Island.

I'd expect the 3.5 to do a little better in most circumstances, but would still budget for the above consumption on trips. Auto I'd expect a little worse.

Cheers,

Scott

I average about 12 or 14 L per 100 I do in the 3.5...

But of course it depends how and where you are driving

12-14L/100 sounds about right for me too, in the shorty 3.0 V6. i average somehwere between 500km - 600km a tank, which is 72 litres. that equals 12-14.4L/100km, i dont think that seems tooooo bad... :? its ok, i tend to drive round town consistenly, and usually always make my shifts before 2000rpm, and take off in second, ill usually just try to get to 5th as quick as possible and this usually always sees my around 13L/100 round town, and then it drops somewhat when driving long distances, but i never do 110km/hr, because it sees the little paj sitting on 3000rpm and uses an extra 4L/100km over doing 100km/hr, and it rarely gets you anywhere anyway

I agree. There doesn't seem to be much of a fuel consumption difference between the 31" and the 33" because thats the kind of figures I get.
