Mate that sounds expensive if it's just for the clutch (not installed I mean). I got a heavy duty one (not sure if daiken or another brand) for my GQ turbo 4.2 a year or so ago and it cost me $400ish .. mates rates so I would think around $500 - $600 would pull it up easily enough.

Cheers

Not a bad price for Exedy (Was daiken) clutch.

The clutch itself costs either $350 (normal duty) or $450 for heavy duty - there is a fair few hours labour invoved to rip/replace.

hey MatthewK: Try East Coast Autos in East Bentleigh. I bought my Exedy (formally daiken) Safari Tuff Heavy Duty clutch kit for $525 in March / April.

Given it took me a full day (and then a bit) to remove the old and install the new, $995 fitted is ok price. Remember, if you pay someone to do it, you also get WARRANTY ! ;)

Hey Duff, try Stop Master Brake And Clutch. They are at Gateshead, usually the cheapest and have good knowledge.

i run 37" boggersand 35" mtrs on the road. do you guys recommend the heavy duty one or will the standard ones hold up just as well. what i have been told is that there is no warrenty for the HD clutches as they can suffer from shudder because of the higher clamping force.

this is for a standard 4.2 diesel patrol. has anyone had any problems with their HD clutch.

With those size tyres go the Safari, the shudder thing is to stop people whinging that the pedal feels diferent/heavy/hard/not the same(der)funny not sure aint the same, car stalls now kinda stuff. With it being a popular clutch and very little complaints go for----go on you know you wanna
