Sydney Navrun.
So the W.A boys are trying to get a Navrun happening, How about Sydney. Show some support if you're interested in getting a NSW navrun happening in the Sydney region. i'd be keen to go up there for it but we'd need 19 more teams, thats 38 cars. And Beretta before you reply your the other car in my team ... well that's what i was thinking!
As far as an indecent proposal goes, I'd accept nothing less than $100,000 to tolerate buggery. Any less and it's just not worth the psychological trauma.
The Watagans could be a good spot for this Ruffy? Just gotta do some sussing out on this one, but very keen to see if we can get one happening up here.
So any Sydney siders interested in Navigational events??
Check this out if you're interested and post up a reply,

Just like WA and Qld - we got 4 teams last year for NSW so called it off. Vic is going Off! How cum the other states are so far behind Vic.
We should have a challenge to see which state can round up the most Navsters. At the moment I would put $1000 on Vic by triple.
Ca'rn you croweaters, banana benders and cockroaches - let's see what you are made of...

Hey Hobzee & Rudi,
Hows about single entries and not teams.....my reason being, we wanted to have a go at the Sunny Corner Navrun last year, but found it real hard to get another team to commit....some said yes and then pulled out saying they weren't skilled enough.
Like we are?????
I think because of the lack of nav events even at club level...... confidence and the worry of letting the other team member down could have something to do with it.
Yet how else is one going to get experience...particularly if they fancy the Whitecliffs Cliffhanger Navrun or the OBC for that matter.
Lets hope we can get it happening......
Cheers,
Celia

Good point Celia
I was entered to do the Queensland Navrun and was pretty disappointed when it got canned. I do think though that a comp of this style with individual competitors rather than teams of two would attract much more attention. There are loads of comps in Queensland which draw good numbers from single entrants.
But there again the two team format seems to work exceptionally well in Victoria, and Rudi and Hobzee have no doubt invested a lot in this format. Whether two cars or individual, I would be keen to do navruns in Queensland if there was enough interest.
It might be worth Rudi and Hobzee putting it out there and seeing what interest there is from individuals rather than teams in the "backward states"

Can someone point me to a link with basic format info of the Navruns? Don't really know a terrible lot about what they are about.
Thanks

What about a state of origin final? Top 3 from each state in a final event for ''Best in aussie state"Hobzee wrote:We should have a challenge to see which state can round up the most Navsters. At the moment I would put $1000 on Vic by triple. ...
Used to be Interstate challenge in bike racing years back Vic V NSW, was hotly contested ...
Being one of those keen victorians and having competed in both two car and single car events, I'd have to say the two car team is the way to go for navruns. Given the distances travelled during the event and there being limited "staff" it's good to know that everyone has a buddy out there to help should the need arise. The fact that you don't have to have a winch but may need recovering strengthens this.
I hear what you're saying about single cars, but...... If you get 40 single cars that's 20 teams?????????
40 is an easy number to get to a comp in NSW and QLD!..
Keep working on it guys.. you dunno what you're missing out on!
Cheers..
By the way, if you still don't get the concept or want more info, PM or Email NAVRUN, OR if you want a competitors point of view, PM ME.

I don't think you would have to much trouble getting competitiors if you sent letters to clubs as well as on this site. You don't need to make it a club event just to help spread the word. LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

I've driven the truck down to Vic for quite a few Navruns over the last 3 years and always have a great time.
Hobbzie,
Rememebr we discussed at the OBC - give the Canberra area a go. Some good area around there (sort of in the middle) to attact Vic boys, NSW and ACT newbies (maybe a bit far for the Tasie boys). Either way, if you need a hand or somewhere to stay give me a yell.

I'm don't really know the financials involved but i dare say they wouldn't cater and event so far away. And secondly there's no price reduction necessary. Don't forget these guys have to travel up there to set up and recon before the event because all the lazy arse NS welshmen can't be @#$%* organising one of these. Also there events are worth every penny you pay for them...GU Junkie wrote:I'm interested.
You might want to consider reducing the cost to get people interested.
Maybe run it without the catering to start with.
I would be happy to pay extra and travel from vic to do it!!!!!!!!!!
HOW RUDE!

Entry fee is $300, divide that by 4 and it works out to be $75 per person, that sounds pretty cheap to me.

Joe.
To succeed, focus on the solution, not the problem.

Mate it is a fair suggestion, but when you think about it, it's bloody cheap already, they're a really well put together event for the entry fee you pay. I wouldn't hesitate to pay it if they were to run one in Sydney, wouldn't even blink.GU Junkie wrote:I'm interested.

Why is it some tight arses always buck up at paying entry fees. ( IF YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU HAVE TO PAY ).
P.S Don't forget about the insurances etc involved in running these events.

It would be good to see these events start around here. For what you get the cost of entry is good
