How much would it cost to do a spring over conversion?

Respect in the eyes of many :finger:

It really depends on how properly you want to do it. Welding spring pads on and a new set of shocks might not be too expensive, but longer driveshafts and steering correction will bump up your costs significantly.

imo id go the snake hi steer knuckle rather then a home style fab job. why the extra castor in the front? I thouht most people running spoa would be running standard shackles?

all hi steer arms are x-ray tested, something wich you have to do with the snake racing item aswell.extra caster combined with power steer makes the car track heaps better.all spring overs run standard shackles.actually i dont recomend longer shackles.they make the car handle funny, remove all caster and reduce wheel travel.the only thing with the hi-steer nuckle is you can't run full hi-steer.

If your considering a spoa, joe is definetly the person to see. He did mine about a year ago and its still going great.

i hope joe blow is prepared to put his money where is mouth is on th statement of the snake racing hi steer is'nt x-rayed because he was sadly mis-informed. If you find anyone who has broken one you should call ryan at snake and let him know....... hi steers that bolt on to the king pin are crap- it not hard to shear four 10mm bolts off, i know, i'v done it.

So they're supplied with an X-ray certificate? or do Snake state that they can be x-ray'd

for starters hi steer arms should never rely on just the four king pin bolts.if that is the case than your asking for trouble, and what i'm saying is that every steering component,if not factory, should have an x-ray cetificate from a NATA lab.that way the engineer covers his arse.

it should be welded to the kingpin? not a big difference at the end of the day.

Have seen them using both the kingpin and brake caliper bolts , think its the sky fabrications and other ones from the states that do this.

Layto....

Looking for pic, dammit cant find one.
