1.6 EFI conversion wiring diagram needed

Post by georges »

Hows it going guys, I just discovered this, its great :D I myself am half way through a 1.6 EFI conversion in my 87 serria wt. I've hit a wall, I have the early mod vitara computer with the mechanical air flow meter and I need a wiring diagram to suit this vitara (90-95 I think). I have the haines book its useless, different colour coded wires, I cant find where the oxygen sensor is ment to go in to the computer? Any help will be muchly appreciated.

Unfortunately I'm in melbourne so I wont be able to pop over and pick it up, but the only wire I need to know is the oxygen sensor which runs from the computer directly to the exhaust manifold. What color is that wire?

The motor and wiring loom I got, came out of a sierra conversion but the wally that pulled it out just ripped the wire out of the loom so I can't tell were its ment to go, not to mention it was a birds nest in the first place.

But still a bargan at only $200 dollars ( loom, computer and motor litely cooked but complete). :D

Hi Georges,

I don't have the wiring diagram for a vitara, but i do have the wiring diagram for a suzuki cappuccino - and we found that when installing the cappuccino motor into a sierra that a majority of wires in both cars shared the same wiring codes... this also was the same for wiring up a vitara EFI fuel tank in the car (same coloured wired as the sierra and cappo too)...

I also thought that the haynes manual had the wiring diagram for the vitara efi model in it?
