From what I've read the 60 and 78/79 front diff are about the same width.badger wrote:oista im pretty sure you will find that the 60 has wider diffs than the 78/79 as they are same width as a 75
to be worth the effort you would have to go 80 or 100
perhapse look at the 80 series rolling chassis for sale on here and fit it all to your 60
The 78/79 has smaller cv than 80 but bigger than hilux/ 75/ 45 series.
It also has the smaller 8" high pinion centre ala Bundera, 80 series, whereas the 60 has the bigger 9" LP centre.
Also has 5 wheel studs, not 6 like all ealier Toyotas.
Be corrected 78/79 CV's are exactly the same CV as early 80 and all DX model 80's had the same CV as does the DX 100, the drive spline on the late 80's full timer's is 8.0mm longer and the 100 full timer has a different spline on the end but the CV bell is the same.slosh wrote:From what I've read the 60 and 78/79 front diff are about the same width.badger wrote:oista im pretty sure you will find that the 60 has wider diffs than the 78/79 as they are same width as a 75
