hilux steering gear

Post by dmcruising »

Hi i have an oil leak in the power steering box it comes from near the worm shaft. i have had a quote for a rebuild or replacement both coming to the $1000 mark is this the standard price or am i getting ripped off.
for that much i'd rather keep buying oil and topping up every 2 weeks.

any advice is welcome
thanks
dave

ps if anyone in the newcastle area can help let me know.

yeah i thought i could get cheaper who it was from is usually pretty good as i do some private work for them. they quote $750 for box and 250 to install and same to get it recoed. I will look around at steering mobs to get a decent price my guess is it only needs a new seal.
