Defender dampener pics

Has anyone got any pics of a Defender steering dampener setup?
Are they pin to eye or eye to eye?

Pin at the chassis end, Eye at the differential(drag link) end.

Thanks JC, do you know what side of the chassis rail the bracket is on L/H or R/H of passenger side rail.

I'm sensing that you want to fit the 'fender damper to the RR???
If so, you will need the 'fender drag link end at the steering box, as this is the 1 with the bracket for the eye end of the damper. the bracket for the pin end will fit on the passenger side of the rail, approx where the LH drive steering box bracket fits, a tube welded to the chassis. Bolt a plate here to take the pin end.

Correct.
Was just wondering what side of the rail the bracket will go on, so i presume the inside of the rail. Already have the fender draglink bracket.

Just get pin to pin, get a bracket from maxi, LRA, whoever that goes on your drag link and weld a bit of flat bar to you chassis in the corresponding position, Not that i bother cause they seem fine on the rear i've only bent a couple but i bend shit on the front to and rovers don't drive any different without a dampener if the front geometry is right

I have the original Defender bracket that goes on the draglink, so only need to make a plate to go on the inside rail for the other end (pin to eye). Heaps cheaper than getting the Maxi brackets, only cost me $25.

After seeing this thread I wondered why???

Then I crawled under the Rangie this arvo and realised why! I put a new aftermarket damper on about 3 months ago and it has been half demolished already. I will have to keep an eye out for a second hand Defender drag link so i can pinch the bracket.

The reason to this thread, is a toy conversion, nowhere to bolt the dampener so have to move it to the front.

Similarly, I'm using a Bilstien damper for Disco II on my drag link. Though they have eyes both ends.

one thing i have noticed when i installed my h/duty draglink with the defender bracket is that it is overall about 30mm longer than my standard rangie draglink, even when it is wound all the way in.
