Hi guys, i've been looking around and there's lots of great info here (esp in the "bibles") but i still have a few questions i'd love answers to...
I'm looking at buying a early Vitara as a daily driver. (I also have 1979 MGB, but its too tempremental for daily use and terrible in winter).
I've narrowed it down to:
- 2 door as i want to keep the Vitara as economical as possible. (Guessing 2 door is lighter than the estate)
- Hardtop essential (security, weather resistance etc)
- EFI seems to be the way to go as it has more power.
- Manual as smaller engines usually need to be "worked" a bit more.
My main questions are:
- Is the EFI a lot better? I want this car to be able to handle the occasional freeway roadtrip so the more power the better.
- How much should i be aiming to pay? Seems like most '94ish in ok condition are like $6000 but RedBook seems to think they should be a good bit cheaper.
- Lots of places say EFI is introduced in '94 for the 2 door, but some say eariler. Is '94 correct? And are ALL '94 2-doors therefore EFI?
- How well can it tow say a 6x4 trailer full of sand. (say .5 tonne?)
- Any other opinions on buying Vitaras!?
Whoa - lots of questions. Cheers for any help fellas!
