GU ute cab on wagon chassis?
GU ute cab on wagon chassis?
This is more an un-educated question of curiosity than anything else, but I was wondering if it was possible to put a GU ute cab on a GU wagon chassis
?

More poke = More smoke!!!
I'm considering changing mine over from a wagon to a ute. Ultimately, I'd like to chop the wagon into an extra cab but that'll be a long way off happening if ever
.
I'll be helping a mate do a chop on a GQ wagon soon so that may be able give me a good idea of what's required for the whole excercise
.
Has anyone here put a ute cab on their wagon chassis? I'd be keen to have a quick run down on the whole excercise. What bits can I & can't I use off the wagon shell onto the ute cab?
As I mentioned, this is just a thought for the moment but depending on how much time & money would be involved as to which way I would go with it

I'm guessing you're talking about Birdys' old ute as his new one is a wagon chopped into an extra cab.moose wrote:pretty sure "Birdys," yellow beast is a ute cab on wagon chassis !!!
contact OnTrack (Drafty) he can prob give you info !!!
Drafty's brother (not Andrew from On Track) & myself will be doing the chop on a wagon soon though I'm not sure how much Drafty knows about the whole excercise as he has more to do with the comp scene than the mechanical side of things at On Track

because all the front panels are attached to the cab it makes it a rather large job
if you have the tools and know how (or mates) id say it be the same work and dollars to do the extra cab chop as to swap cabs.
i have 2 mates that have done it and its a big job have to take all the wireing, a/c,heater brak n clutch boosters, basically everything out
including the stuff attached to the inside of the wheel arches and radiator etc then swap cabs and put it all back in
so i guess it depends on wich way you are inclined
if it were me id chop cos for same work u get an extra cab wich is heaps better
