should i change my gearbox?

Post by drifta »

hey guys,

my feroza engine is on the way out and im looking at getting it replaced.. i was wondering if u guys think i should change or recon the gearbox also and if anybody can reconmend either a wrecked gb or reconing my original one? and any suppliers in perth.

problems with my gb currently:

my mechanic said there is a small crack in my transfer case.

sometimes when i go to select reverse from first, i hear a crunch as it goes into place, this is with the clutch fully depressed

it seems that my gearbox is a bit rattley, especially around 3000rpm or so.
found a 3door 1.6L efi vitara =) pm me for 4x4ing around perth

Mine was rattley when I bought it three years ago. I found some really good oil that quietened it down and fixed cold morning shift problems I had.

Now I'm finally going to get it rebuilt - I would have been happy if it had lasted 12mths!

Yours might be the same and last for a long time yet.
