Cleaning Diesel Fuel Tanks

Post by Deleted User »

I have an 85 Hilux (diesel) and was wondering if it would help the filters by pulling the tank out and giving it a clean? I would imagine, with over 20 years of filling there would be a bit of sludge in the bottom of the tank.

If so, what would be the best way of cleaning it ?

pull it out and drain it all out then id just wipe it with a rag
iam guessing it would not be a good idea to get water or any other solvent in there as it will mix with the diesel and wuld cause more problems
