shackles or spring lift
g/day all
just want to tickle ya brains on what would be better on a LN106 hilux
+2 inch shackle lift with 2 inch(already fitted) suspension lift or
4inch suspension lift alone
I know the extended shackles will only give me an extra inch. just wanna know which set up will work better.
thanks in advance
ps. dont want to know about legalities or cost, just best setup

Get longer top leaves on your current springs and put in some shackles. this will let your suspension work a lot better. It's not always about height. If you are serious then look at how to make it work better not just look higher. To get the most out of it then move your front spring mounts forward (on the rear) and put longer springs in. You can get heaps of flex out of doing this.

Yep, longer flater springs work fine for me. My main problem is axle warp due to the soft rear.toughnut wrote:Get longer top leaves on your current springs and put in some shackles. this will let your suspension work a lot better. (flame suit on) i want to get to the 7/11 from the back way. (flame suit off)grimbo wrote:better for what? Why do you want more lift? Why do you want to chnage your current setup? What sort of driving do you do? Is your car usually driven loaded up or unladen? etc etc Lots more detail needs to be given rather than just better.
Mate,(1) just want better articulation
(2) a bit more clearance underneath.
(3) all sorts
(4) when i go 4wding i attempt not to take work with me.
Even when working, most of the time i wouldn't be carrying more than say 100 - 150 kgs.
Campings a different story but.
What ive read from toughnut, Nev62 & spartacus makes sense for what i want but still keen to hear other opinions
thanks all
PS simkell , you worry me.
