Defender Seats

Post by LandRoverLyle »

I am still running the stock seats in my 2001 defender and they are not all that great for long trips, interested to know what other people have sourced and fitted.
Thanks

I had a quick measure and idea a while ago that 90 to 91 model Honda accord EXi electric leather seats would fit, we had an Accord at that stage, and the minute adjustability of the electric seats was fantastic for both the other half and I. Leather is an added bonus. I remember thinking back then that they wouldn't be all that much of a problem to fit. Best bet is to check the Jap wreckers, as most seats from jap cars or even late model vans which have the lower squab height may be OK

'92 Rangie Sherwood/turbo intercooled isuzu4BD1 /ACE/ full leather/2.5" exh/2.5" body lift/DeCarbon shocks/LR tanks/LT95 back in and OK now, Sals conversion soon...

I got some Sheep skin covers made up. That did the trick and it's still easy to get to the batteries.

I put some seats out of a classic range rover.

Drill the indents on the slider plates out.
Bolt them to seat box.
Slide on seat.

To get to the battery, just slide the seat all the way forwards and off the rails, and lift out of vehicle.
