Front Tow Bar

Post by rosco »

Has anyone got a pattern, design or ideas how to construct a front tow bar for an NL with roo bar. I require one to make it easier to put the boat down the back of the house. I want a receiver (Reece) type so I can use the hitch off the back. Needs to be left hand off set for vision. Local business wants $200-300 to make it.

Rosco,

I'd be temped to cut a square out of your bar such that it will allow a lump of square tube to be welded to where your bar bolts on to the chassis,

A couple of issues though, it's hard to buy the sight size tube to take the reece hitch as they hold the special sized dies to make the tube, I've made my own by cutting and rewelding standard sized tube. the other problem being that you will have to fit the reece pin behind the bar if you want the receiver socket to be flush with the bar.

Hope this helps
