Single or Dual...How do I tell ???

Post by lostboy »

I have a SWB 93 model Jackaroo, its a V6 but I dont know if its a DOHC or a SOHC.....
How do I tell??

I asked at my local holden dealer and they said that the swb of that year only came with SOHC then I said "but its a 6VD1" and he said "it must be a DOHC"..... :? :? :?
...................Im so confused..............

So.... does any one know how to tell the difference without lifting a rocker cover?

Please.....

Pretty sure the earlier V6 Jackaroos were SOHC but with the same engine model number as the later DOHC 3.2 6VDI
I think the V6 Jacks went straight from a SOHC 3.2 to the 3.5 V6 and the Rodeo just got the DOHC 3.2 from 98 on.

Are you more confused now :D

The 6VD1 in the Jackaroo is a SOHC 3.2l
The 6VD1 in the Rodeo is a DOHC 3.2l
The 6VE1 in the later Jackaroo is 3.5l
