Then there was the yellow 40 that got stuck trying to get close enough to winch sum1 back on their wheels.

Cheers
You don't mean Pete's Cruiser, do you? It was in the background of some of the pics.

Looked like an awesome weekend...PISSED OFF that we had to sit it out :bad-words:

Micka
Yeah. It got stuck (breifly) on sum rocks as its lockers no worky.

Great weekend. Took the missus to an event cos it was close enough for her to come for the day (cant have em camping with us now can we) and she had a ball too. Great drives by all and congrats again to Pete and Tazz. This sandstone around here seems to grip real well when it is clean of sand/silt and loose material (which isnt often), so the event was a good mix of tech lines and use of the right foot on loose stuff. I though more spectators would turn up tho. P*ssies.

I am waiting for an email video of Jamie's roll. It was the most "Chronic" "Hectiic" :D roll.... aand I missed it

On the video it looks like an RC, it goes end over end lands on its wheels unscathed and he continues to drive it forward, what a little animal :D
:P

Stages 3 and 4 seemed to be most popular with the crowd, obviously more potential for roll overs, massive drops, climbs and saves. Although I think the crowd missed out on some good action on the other 2 courses. I was hobbling around all day checking them all out. I saw Adrian take the bonus line down a4, it was great to watch and had the good yank style as was a3's bonus...and I think Wes should be cloned and available for purchase/hire :P , there are more than a few really awsome spotters in the event, i think they the most crucial part of a team in such a hardcore event. Good work guys it's cool to watch.

Question
*Will there be more advertising for the finals?

Hopefully there will be some television coverage...but that will depend.

I am going to get in contact with some people I spoke to at Channel 9 about covering the Brisbane 4wd Show - fingers crossed that they are still interested.

Just got home and i am completely buggered!
Had a decent weekend . Didnt break the buggie on day 1 but i broke my spotter. So a big thanks to Roger for spotting for me on sunday considering he probly had a decent hangover. Was a shame to break my steering on the shootout coarse and not able to attempt to finish but thats motorsport for ya.
A big congrates to everyone who put the event together and played a part in the running of the weekend. And to Tim and Shaun for taking the win in pro mod and to wombat and case for the second place.
Damage for the weekend entailed motor so new one going in on saterday.
Panels (most) and the damn steer arm but will all be good for the finals.
So see yas all there

what happened with sam keck... after hearing he was in first on day one i was going for him

Well thats probably my fault ........

Day 1 we had some reasonable drives only to time out on A1 our final course then as we went to reverse out of where we were ....the front left had bound up pretty bad between two rocks and snap goes and axle  .....

After some welcomed help from Gonads of use of his shop some 40minutes away Sam machined up a stock axle cut in half ( to get the required length of the short short side ;) formed a spigot on 1 side and pressed that into a machined out other side then welded it all UP  ..... and put it all back together early sunday morn ...

And well sunday the courses were far more technical with some insane (awesome  ) bonus lines ....and sections that needed alot of skill and a steady right foot ..... I had a brain fade on 3 of the courses (shootout ) wasnt too bad LOL other than almost gettin squashed by the buggy during the roll on the bonus up line in the shootout .

On the 3 courses I was just running Sam far too close to the cones on B1 we came out with hitting 3 cones which in all the right aspects should of only been 1

But hell I had a awesome time and didnt even realise at the end of day 1 that we had tied for first

Well done to all that had organised the event as Tim said Kate and Bec dont stop all weekend during the events tallying all the points and keeping everything updated aswell as all of the judges and officials without all these people the events would cease to exist

To Pete /Tazz - Adrian /Wes well done ....Pete's drive in the shootout was prob some of his finest that Ive seen and Im sure ALL of the crowd aswell ..... A big  to ALL of the other competitors youse all had some swheet drives throughout the weekend ....

BRING ON THE FINALS

 nah it was another custom axle from (I think N26 then hardend) .....This has been abused alot with no dramas but where the front left ended up bound tight I think alot of other stronger setups would of also cried enough ........

It was bound so tight that it was hardly even moving when The OPW recovery rig was trying to winch it backwards .....myself , 83lux and JK then proceeded to hang off a high lift jack to lift it up out of the crack ...
which eventually worked
