VIN check how?

Gday,

im wanting to check a vin number of a car im looking at, who in victoria do i call vic roads i cant get through to :bad-words: and there website is next to useless as im not a business but an individual NSW have REVS nice and simple who or what do i contact in victoria?

VicRoads will check VIN and also whether any finance owing.

I think they are the only option??

Am pretty sure that you can access REVS in all states. We've used them here in Qld for previous car purchases.

check with the Police aswell to see if its stolen, if your nice enough to the officer and ask then for a check on the seller, they might indicate weather its a good idea or nat as well

The Vicroads/REVS checks are not Australia wide, so if the car is from interstate make sure you ring the REVS and Police form the state where the car came from as well. (couldn't believe this when I found out the hard way, bought a car that was previously from QLD, went to register it and had some dramas and then they inform me that I have to ring each state individually its not an Australia wide system!!)

The REVS checks are primarliy finance related so you need to ring the police to make sure its not stolen.
