What LB springs for GQ

Hey guys, What spring rates have you found best for front and rear of a GQ. I have 7in lift, front has a ARB winch bar and Warn 8274 High Mount and rear has a gas tank inside and nothing slung off the back except for the spare on the original position. Ive found with the King springs i have at the moment the back squats too much and stuffs the tyre into the wheel arch very hard and the front isnt too bad. Looking to fix up the rear mainly. The front has dropped to 6in lift with the weight it has on it. Any feed back is well appreciated.

My lift is only 2inch Kings but a real 2inches, so not really the same, my back springs are progressive 140-365lb, a full tank almost uses up all of the softer setting and it droops to below front lift height, with 1/4 tank the rear will sit just a bit heigher than the front.
I plan when I can afford it to swap out the rears for linier springs somewhere between 260-300lb, probably closer to 300.

fronts are 240lb no winch or b/b -yet.

Ok... aside from my lean issues which are being sorted [and it only leans because i was sent 2 different length springs and not because of any problem with the spring rate] what i ordered for my Patrol is immediately below. This spring length has given me a genuine 2.5" lift [even though it's designed for a 3" lift]. I've also listed alternative spring rates for you that will provide you with a genuine 3" lift. I've also given you std length rates as well if it helps.

These are Dobinson Springs:

I bought: genuine 2.5" lift

Front: C45-108 : length 440 : Rate 320lb
Rear: C45-129 : length 490 : Rate 305lb

Genuine 3" lift
Front: C93-129 : length 465 : Rate 276lb
Rear: C96-076 : length 515 : Rate 295

Standard
Front length: 400 : Rate Approx 190
Rear length: 460 : Rate approx 200

So given the above you'll note that the additional length doesn't necessarily mean the additional height because the additional rate of the springs will add to the resting height of the vehicle.

put longer bump stops in the back to stop the tyre rubing other wise to get a stiff enough spring to stop it the ride would be very harsh.

Thanks for feedback fellas :) . I have heard reports of 300 LB springs being popular. Any one running them :?: I dont do any heavy loads in the rear the car is mostly used for off road slow speed mountains driving, rocky stuff. Grinch i have considered lengthening the bump stops hey, thats on the cards. Any other ideas :?: [/quote]

She is too high in the rear already Mick. Thats why im looking to get 6in coils in the rear as the front has dropped to that height from the extra weight.

if you run long shocks in the rear youll have probs with the spacers falling out

when i was putting in my springs the 305 rears flexed very easily and that was with no weight in the vehicle and so i can only guess that in action they'd do the job without hassles.

no it wasn't it was 3" springs. But due to the shorter length i'd expect the springs not to flex as well as longer springs. hope this helps
