aftermarket trailing arms
i found out recently that only a few companies were able to make aftermarket suspension arms road legal. i found out the day before i was about to get my A frame 3 link done..... just letting people know that allthough places sell them they MAY not be legal.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
to be legal in qld they have to be xrayed
simple as that
when they say they are engineered they mean that an engineer designed them and or inspected them it dont mean transport will approve them

my mechy said that superior engineering is one of the few companies that has made the effort to go straight for approval (my guess is to take the "for offroad use only" note from the bottom of the receipt). 3rds have approval he was pretty certain.
even with the xray (expensive) they have been known to decline due to moving parts etc. such as 3 link pivot with the brass bushes (might wear over time and therefore unsafe.
just lettin people know

that way ill have stockers for when transport cracks it at me

No, you must get approval from DOT before fitment, then inspection after fitment.GRINCH wrote:does this mean superior arms are legal to just bolt in?chunderlicious wrote:my mechy said that superior engineering is one of the few companies that has made the effort to go straight for approval (my guess is to take the "for offroad use only" note from the bottom of the receipt). 3rds have approval he was pretty certain.

Heath & Melissa - 93 GQ LWB.
This is correct. I had to get the roll cage and lift certified and the trailing arms and other after market stuff was done as part of that.HeathGQ wrote:No, you must get approval from DOT before fitment, then inspection after fitment.GRINCH wrote:does this mean superior arms are legal to just bolt in?chunderlicious wrote:my mechy said that superior engineering is one of the few companies that has made the effort to go straight for approval (my guess is to take the "for offroad use only" note from the bottom of the receipt). 3rds have approval he was pretty certain.
