If the problem started on it's own or did you doo something too it.?????
Ok there is a whiteish plastic thing on your wiring loom it's on the flywall should be near the coil somewhere if you can see it and is not on your wiring get some tape and tape it too your wiring. I hope that helps it's hard too explain
That is normally what it is but you may have too adjust it on your carby if it is still atacthed.

It's normal to happen - i gather it is stopping your car from flattening your battery?
Though i think yours is going up a fair bit - mine would only rise 300rpms...
Sorry - not sure about a wiring solution, but you could always use a trusty screw driver to adjust the idle speeds on the carby? i believe there are 2 or 3 places you can do this - one of these may just affect the idle when the lights are turned on.

I believe you have just explained how to hook up the two plugs for the Tachometer in the non JLX models (i.e. on JLX models it is already attached when you get the car) - if this is the case i don't think it will make any difference.
on the front of the carb there is a vacuum solenoid that raises the idle up. There is a screw adjustment on it, just back it off so it doesnt rev up when the lights come on.
the real problem will be that the loom from the idle solenoid or the vacuum solenoid that i mentioned above is earthing out somewhere. It causes it to idle up when the lights and heater fan are switched on. From memeory it is the black wire with the white trace
