80/100 Front Shock length

Can someone please tell me the open and closed measurement for a Factory front 80/100 shock.
Has anyone got some kicking around??

S##T you can get an answer on how increase articulatuion for any vehicle but no shock length here.

Because I have fitted a Bundera front end into my hilux.
I have GQ 2" shocks fitted at the moment but they are not long enough.
Tried Rangie front but to long!
Mabey 80 series cruiser will do but would like to know the dimensions(saves money)
At the end of the day Koni will be fitted and they will sort it out.
In the mean time cheap shocks will do the job as funds are running a bit low.

Can you help???

Cruiser fronts are longer than Rangie fronts.
You are looking at about 615mm for a front Cruiser shock.
550mm for a front Rangie shock
510mm for a front GQ shock.

lengths do vary a bit depending on the brand

I am lookling at the 530mm mark.
80 series is now ruled out.
I realy don't want to move shock towers

Might have a look at 79 seies.
Anyone??

Something that should be noted when deciding on shock lengths is that coils will sag or settle especially when new, so allow a bit.

You are only looking at 20mm so maybe you can put a spacer at the top and the bottom of the shock to give you a bit more, maybe 10-15mm.

20mm is nothing really, you won't notice any difference me thinks.

After market replacement shocks for 4wd's are nearly always longer than the standard shocks that come with the vehicles from new. I am not sure what the length of the Rangie front shocks were but I am pretty sure I just chucked out a set I had lying around. They probably were about the length you are after.

Pull the 79 Series shocks out of Keiths car, they will be the right ones

and the right length and valving.

575mm and 338mm for a 105 (live axle 100 series)

just take the 4BY down to a 4WD shop and ask them to ramp it and take the shock lengths open and closed then order a new set to suit that way your travel wont be limited
