chev v6

Post by batcho101 »

hey guys i think my oil pump is on its way out and need to change it. my engine is a 1982 chev 229 v6. is the change as simple as dropping the sump and removing and bolting the new one on the rear bearing carrier? i have a spare block at hoem and this seems to me like it shoudl be right...any pros and cons to a hi volume oil pump?

You want a high volume pump for a motor that does its work low down in the rev range. Also good for older high K mtrs that are a bit worn out.
