Hey Guys,
I'm after some advice on how to correctly reassemble the front free wheeling hubs on a 93 Feroza. (Yes Murcod, its getting put back together ) I have the work shop manual and have reinstalled them as outlined however they will not unlock one I slot them into the locked position.
Is this normal. Will they only unlock once the wheel is spinning at speed or should they unlock reguardless of wheel speed. The problem seems to be that when I turn the dial to the unlock position, nothing is pulling the clutch inside the hub to the disengaged position. I am thinking perhaps i'm installing a spring wrong.
Anyone else had a similar problem?

Reassembly of Freewheeling Hubs?

i had a same sought of problem with the left side on my rocky
when i pulled it apart it was jammed up with to much old grease
i cleaned it up regreased it but when i reassembled it the spring didnt go in right . it worked but wouldnt disengage till u rolled the wheel backwards
pulled it apart again and got it right and havent had any probs.

i did mine a while back and theyre a bitch to get right.
the spline only fits in one way (which i presume you figured out)... but i think the outer was the same...
i think i ended up getting mine to work by locking them down, then inserting them.
Put the dial on unlock, then grab the spline and compress the spring back to the outer bit and rotate it so it locks in.
try that... if that doesnt work... then do it the other way
I got mine on by trial and error.
the big question is... where the hell do you get those star shaped o-rings!!!

Well I got it all worked out guys. The manual is totally useless when it comes to the correct assemble of these things unless you know the technical name for everything. If I had thought at the time I may have taken some photos to add to the Sticky How To... threads but I didn't. Give it a month and I'll be doing it all again so I'll take some pices then.
