Driving to work this morning with a very strong diesel smell in the cab...when I got to work (luckily only 5mins down the road) I had a look at the front end and noticed diesel spilling out from the engine bay.
So when the sun came up I popped the bonnet and had a look...couldnt see anything obvious...started the car and WHAMO! diesel was squirting (at a very high speed) from the bottom of the fuel filter.
It turned out to have a 1 inch crack along the bottom. I have never heard of anything like this happening before, have you?
I cut the filter in half to see how much crap was in there....and lets just say I am doing a tank flush this weekend. It was SHOCKING!!!!
