Hi All.
What do you guys think and what do or would you use and why??
ARB's Air Locker or TJM's Pro-Locker??
Pro-Locker only $5 more and I have found out that you can fit it up to the ARB compressor's.
Air Locker has O-rings that can/will wear out and the Pro-Locker has no O-rings ect.
Have always been going to get a Air Locker buy now thinking Pro-Locker.
Will be for the front of GU 3.0TDi.

but does the prolocker still make that tuff noise when u turn em off? thats the important bit
wondering the same myself as im looking into one for my front diff. ive been told by a mate of the designer that they used a cheaper stainless locking pin instead of a high tensile pin to make it contend with the air locker.... also said he was suprised no pins had broken on them

turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
Not to sure on what they use but I have been told that it is a sealed unit and that it works on a carrier set up.

Having looked at one at TJM Seaford, the mech for sliding the gear across (like a shift fork, where it only sits on about 10-20mm of the gear it slides across) to me looks a little weak.
Maybe worth looking at one, but if its the same as the other macnamara ones, it should be fine.
Either will be ok, but ARB are fairly well proven over time.

prolockers are the way to go. I run them in the front and rear of my GU ute. A mate of mine as worked on testing the arb locker verse the tjm prolocker and the prolocker come out the best by far. yes you can run them off the arb compressor and yes they make the noises when you turn them on and off. Go the mighty Patrols
Yeah that is the case with McNamara by the sounds of things.
The Pro-Locker is based on the MaNamara Locker. Only difference is McNamara hand makes his Locker's and TJM's are machine made (therefore cheaper) or made from a mould if you know what I mean.

I waited over 6 months for a pro locker and every week was told next week next week in the end got the shits and went the arb.Happy so far but when i priced them the pro locker was about 300dollars dearer as the switches and bits were not included in the locker price this was all extra.I bought an rd23 locker and 1 paid 1300 for the locker and the arb pump that pumps up the tyres as well,i dropped of the centre and was charged 120 to fit it.

Just because the prolocker is based heavily on a mcnamara doesnt make it a mcnamara locker, or as good/strong as one.
AFAIK the pro-locker is ALMOST IDENTICAL to the macnamara locker, not "heavily based". BTW - the Pro-Locker has a better method of operation, so if it is as strong as the ARB (don't see why it wouldn't be) then it should be more reliable.

Macnamara is still making the pro locker for TJM so dont worry about quality. Its been around for as long as ARB has and has just as good a reputation. Fact is the biggest problem with ARB lockers is that the seals do leak from time to time. From either improper fittment,contamination or just plain worn out. But the Pro Locker has no seals to have these problems.
so then if the prolockers aren't better then the arb locker so why is it then that a lot of the guys that race in the winch challenges and the outback challenge and so on are switching from arb lockers to the prolockers I would say that that is telling you something about which locker is better. I don't think that the lockers can be tested any better then in those events. and for the people waiting for the prolocker be patient they are coming
