Just wondering if any one out there can confirm storys about tranfering a magna engine 3litre v6 into 93 pajero 3litre. as my pajero engine has seen better days, i was told bell housing were different in some magna engines manaul to auto it sounds like a story but some second hand engine sellers may say thie because they charge 2 to 3 times more for pajero engines. and cane it be done.cheers

The block and heads are the same, but from what I know you have to change all of the bolt on's, inlet and exhaust manifolds, ac and p/steer pumps, alternator, bellhousing, sump, possibly the valve covers etc. But for the difference in price I think it is well worth the effort. In the current trading post one of the wreckers is advertising Magna 3.0l engines for $700, and Pajero 3.0l's for $2000. I know which way I'd be going.

in your comments you said i have to change the bellhousing i have not pulled one apart can you tell me more the problem i am a fraid of is paying top dollar and still the motor having problems thats why i thought buying a magna engine and replacing all gaskets any way amd checking the motor right out before refit do you think i am going too extreme.

Just had a thought a while ago a person was selling a twin turbo v6 3litre
to fit a triton well after thinking more i might find my self trying this but i will need a hand from all those people out there with some ideas and knowledge of these great cars.cheers mick

I was told today the camshafts are different between pajero and magna and just woundering which ones would be better for the pajero.
i have been looking for specs and i dont know were to start.

Good question. Other than cams, there may be differences in compression ratios, rocker geometry, valve sizes, valve-piston clearances and who knows what else which could affect performance if you swap cams between heads.

Pajero cam would be the safer bet in a Pajero engine; if you have the time and inclination, try a Magna cam to see what happens.

mate this is not as easy as i thought ,some of the ansawers i get locally
is just trail and eora i was told to buy a magna engine and that is as far as i have got because i can not find enough info. local knowleadge out here is up to shit on these engines. 6g72
