is it true that if u have a cable winch it should have roller on the f/bar?
and if u have rope u have the plain cut out one?

It depends what the fairlead is made out of. You can use a steel Hause (cut out) fairlead for either and you can also use a roller fairlead for rope. It depends on your needs. You wouldn't use an alloy fairlead for cable though. Most people use a hause fairlead because they don't stick out as far and you don't have to do anything as far as maintenance. ;)

cos my new toy as cable but no rollers, dose that course damage to cable

If you run a hause fairlead it creates a weak point regardless of whether it is a cable or rope. If you pull something over a fixed point it causes friction that can cause a failure in some instances. Having said this it doesn't happen very often and it can't be a bad thing if you see most people using a hause fairlead instead of roller fairleads in comps where it counts the most. ;)
