chevy transfer case in my hilux?

Post by Arron nz »

I have a holden v6 and th700 auto (from the same car) in my lux. the auto needs a full rebuild (nz$3000-ish) so i thought why not get a transfer case that would originally bolt behind said gearbox so that i do not need a custom out put shaft in my auto box (to mate to the toyota transfer) so that i can buy a standard secondhand auto box. question is, what is the best box to use?, and will it bolt straight on? I was thinking NP203c? have heard a rumor that a th700r4 from a 4wd (rather than my one which is out of a gay old commoder) has a longer output shaft? is this true? also does anyone know if you can some how get a pto into the equation? (i sure would like a 4 spd 130kw winch) any help much appreciated.
Cheers.

the output shafts are different as are the bellhousing bolt pattern as you have a v6 box and the v8s are the turbo pattern,

So if I were to buy a v8 box would it work? or is the output still different?
