80 - 100 diffs

are the bare housings the same

as ive set my 100 diff as a 4 link with a a frame
but im now changing for the 100 5 link


and as ive chopped n modded the 100 diff to suit i can swap a stock 80 housing for it
as the mate want's the modded 100 housing

or do i need a new 100 housing

there different centers wont fit
current truck, 105 series GXL diesel 6" springs & twin pro lockers

Take this under advisement..if you are talking about the rear housing......
the centres are different in the ring and pinion, aswell as axle splines, but the actual bolt pattern is thesame i think on the housing....there will be a length difference between 80 and 100 housing aswell....so you will be up for big problems if you want to put the 100 diff in an 80 housing...you will need to put 80 side gears in the 100 lsd to accept the 80 axles...then you need 80 hubs, because the 100 hubs run bigger axle pins and larger pcd....

If you are talking front housing, again, there is a length difference, but all else is interchangeable.

yeah guys it was the rear diff sorry on the lack of info

i did find out that the

80 and 100 share the same front arb air locka a rd23

but the rears are different

100 is a rd 64

80 is a rd 33
