Hilux Tray Specs

Post by dieseldude »

Can someone please tell me if a motorbike (KTM 250 EXC - normal full size bike) would fit straight and lengthways into either:

Hilux Single cab style side tray
(or)
Hilux Extra cab style side tray

I'm asking because I'm looking at sourcing one of these to use as a trailer to carry bikes in.

Also, how heavy are these tubs on their own? Can two grown men lift one?

NOTE:
I don't want one that's already made, I want to make and register one for myself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Anthony.

Dual cab will fit if you put the tailgate down.

For weight, I can't imagine they'd be too much more than a dual cab tray and I can lift that with another guy very easily. Probably only weighed 60 kilo's at a guess.

Excellent!

I'd be more inclined to purchase a single cab or extra cab tub so that I could (hopefully) close the tail gate while the bikes are inside. This way, all of the riding gear etc wouldn't fall out the back.

So I guess my question still stands in a way - Will bikes fit in either of these trays with the tail gate up?

Thanks

Cheers mate. So it seems I'll be searching for a single cab tub. Pretty sure they're rare as hens teeth but.

Well, if I come across a decent one, I'll be grabbing it for sure.

Thanks very much for your input.

Hi there Anthony, dont forget to try ebay, have seen a couple on there in recent times, and if not local not a problem as you can get it trucked (courier) to you for a small cost. Regards Steve M

My bike fits straight on a single cab with a steel tray
But not sure if the steel tray would be longer than the tub or not???
