I don't think so as that would put the lights outsdie of the headlights. From memory any extra lights must be between the existing headlights. But as always your best bet is to confirm with VicRoads

As good as they look and how well they mount they are not the best. The light off the spotties reflects off the bonnet (esp when the bonnet is dirty) and it does make it hard to see things in the distance.

you may also have problems with the height of them. I think there are regulations that specify the maximim height allowed for headlights.

I think the rules are they must not obstruct your view in any way (ie top of bullbar) and not obstruct your other lighting.

it is either 1200 or 1400mm from the road I believe, but as I said best to check VicRoads not the internet experts on here

You see that many 4wd's with spotties on their rollbars, and top of their windshield. It maybe illegal but it doesnt seem to be a rule they inforce.

The rule with rollbar spotties is they can be bolted on but not wired up to be road legal...not sure how that makes sense. That setup off the windscreen hinge is illegal in NSW.

Wouldn't that mean that it cant be wired up to your headlights eg when you turn on your headlight they turn on aswell. to be "legal" you probably have to have a seprate switch for them like on your dashboard... would that make more sense :D

I've been told they can't be wired up at all ie 'just to look at'...but your idea does make sense.

1200mm max height for headlights only.

firstly don'y hook them up to headlights and classify them worklights.second you can have roll cage lights legally.they have to be specific size, wattage etc.contact vic roads engineers [not vicroads themselves] for further info.
